Host your next event at the Arden Theatre Company. Whether you’re planning a corporate meeting, a fundraising event, or a holiday party, our spacious facilities make a stunning backdrop that will dazzle your guests and inspire creativity.
With more than 20,000 square feet of event space, we can accommodate intimate groups of 20 or large groups of 350 for:

Located in the heart of Old City, the Arden is within easy walking distance of the area’s premiere attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and churches – as well as public transportation. We’re also in close proximity to major interstate highways serving Philadelphia.
Our main building at 40 N. 2nd Street features two state-of-the art theatres and lobbies suitable for a variety of events as well as a kitchen area for caterer preparation and restroom facilities on both levels.
- The F. Otto Haas Stage
Our versatile 360-seat theatre allows for seating in a number of unique configurations for any type of theater-style corporate meeting, conferences, or event. Rental of this space can include the use of backstage dressing rooms and a spacious Green Room to accommodate special guests or dignitaries.
- The Arcadia Stage
This 175-200 seat theatre is fully equipped with sound and lighting equipment is great for presentations, performances, and corporate events. Rental can include access to two comfortable backstage dressing rooms.
- The Lobby
This spacious bi-level reception area accommodates 250-360 people for cocktail parties, receptions, and other events.
- The Independence Foundation Studio
Looking for a more intimate space? The Independence Foundation Studio accommodates up to 40 people for any type of event such as cocktails or a sit-down dinner. This space can open up to the lobby to accommodate larger events.
The nearby Hamilton Family Arts Center at 62 N. Second Street is perfect for private parties, corporate conferences, wedding receptions, and more. This building features ten rooms of varying sizes to host any type of event – large or small.
- Independence Foundation Lobby
Located on the first floor with huge windows that open directly onto Second Street, this room is a great greeting area for guests attending all types of events.
- Connelly Foundation Room and Smith Room
Connected by double doors and featuring a baby grand piano, these two rooms provide an excellent space for receptions and parties for 50-70 guests. The Connelly Foundation Room has large floor to ceiling windows that look out to the street and huge doors that open to the lobby. Individual conferences, meetings, or larger events are well-suited for these venues.
- The Selma M. & Robert J. Horan Studio Theatre
The Selma M. & Robert J. Horan Studio Theatre is a 1,400 square foot room located on the second floor that can accommodate up to 100 guests. This room includes a large retractable projector screen and can be configured for parties, meetings, presentations, and more.
- Wolfson Art Room, Brown Martin Room, and 1976 Foundation Room
These three rooms are perfect for breakout rooms, meetings, and events. Featuring exposed brick walls, whiteboards, and large windows, these rooms are terrific for groups of up to 30 people. Pianos can be arranged for an additional cost.
- Music room
Our music room is suitable for small breakout meetings, one-on-one coaching, or as staging area for events. A small room with hardwood floors and exposed brick, this space is intimate and comfortable for up to 8 people.
- Hirsig Rehearsal Hall
Hirsig Rehearsal Hall is a large and bright room with exposed brick walls and windows facing east. Suitable for groups as large as 80, this space has hardwood flooring and a special Marley floor covering for rehearsals and can be outfitted to meet your specific needs.
- Mama’s Lounge
A cheerful outlet at the end of the second floor hallway, Mama’s Lounge is a convenient spot for small receptions or cocktails and hors d’oeuvres of 10-20 guests.
