Arden Theatre Company continues its critically-acclaimed production of the musical Caroline, or Change
(Book & Lyrics by Tony Kushner, Music by Jeanine Tesori, directed by Terrence Nolen) until April 15. Drawn from Kushner's own Louisiana childhood, Caroline, or Change
centers on a divorced, middle-aged African-American maid who works for a Jewish family in the suburban enclave of Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1963.
Performances during "Kushner Marathon Weekend" include Friday March 30 at 8pm, Saturday March 31 at 2pm & 8pm, and Sunday April 1 at 2pm. The Sunday matinee will include a post show discussion. Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches
City Paper journalist/Penn faculty member David Fox directs the first part of Kushner's epic work Angels in America
at the Annenberg Center's Studio Theatre. Kushner's Angels in America
has made itself a legend in its own time, winning nearly every prize known to man and defying all laws of commercial theatre by turning "a gay fantasia" about politics, religion and AIDS into a smash hit. Production opens on Wednesday March 28 at 8pm.
