(Philadelphia, PA)Arden Theatre Company announces the upcoming winter class schedule through Arden Drama School. Classes are held at the Hamilton Family Arts Center, 62 N. 2nd Street, Old City, Philadelphia. Saturday classes start January 10, 2015 and weekday classes begin the week of January 12, 2015.
A wide range of 8-week, 6-week, 4-week and 1-day classes are held to accommodate all ages and levels of interest. Also offered is a Spring Break Theatre Camp from Monday, March 30 – Friday, April 3rd and two Play-In-A-Day workshops on Monday, January 19, 2015 (MLK Jr. Day) and Monday, February 16, 2015 (President’s Day.)
For younger artists, Arden Drama School classes inspire creativity by focusing on process and imagination. Participants learn the value of keeping an open mind and being aware in the world. Older participants hone specific skills in classes such as Musical Theatre and Fundamentals of Acting and one day workshops that include Costume Design and Stage Combat, in addition to others. Founded in 1988, the Arden Theatre Company is dedicated to bringing to life great stories by great storytellers on stage, in the classroom, and in the community. Five Mainstage and two Arden Children’s Theatre shows are produced each season. The Arden provides extensive arts education programs including Arden For All, a program in schools in the Greater Philadelphia area. The Arden completed construction on the Hamilton Family Arts Center in the fall of 2013. Located at 62 N. 2nd Street, it is home to the New Play Development Program and the Arden Drama School and includes six classrooms, a rehearsal hall, an 80-seat Studio Theatre, Lobby, Parent Lounge, Teacher Resource Center and a Crafts Studio for construction of set and props.
